In 1846 the US Government established Fort Marcy on the high ground overlooking their new territory and Capital, Santa Fe. This site was chosen for its strategic vantage point overlooking the city. It is still today the “high ground” overlooking the Capital of New Mexico, the Jemez Mountains to the west, the Sandia and Ortiz Mountains to the south and the ski basin views of the Sangre De Christo Mountains to the northeast.

LOS ALTOS adjoins the open ground that is today Fort Marcy Park and enjoys those 360 degree views as well as being about four blocks to the central city Plaza. LOS ALTOS, “The Heights,” is truly one of the most important residential sites in the city of Santa Fe today!

The Coombs Company improved seven lots on 10.73 acres in the Los Altos subdivision, installing all underground city services, drainage facilities, and asphalt roadways with curbs and gutters. Los Altos properties have the rights to use the recreational facilities at Estancia Primera Association adjoining us to the east. These include an indoor racquet ball court, an outdoor tennis court and swimming pool.
